My husband and 3 adult children will be traveling in Spain this May. We would like to go Morocco for a few(2-3) days. A few questions: Is it safe?-especially with 2 blond haired blue eyed young women. We will be travel smart with regards to petty crime, but as a mom, I worry about how women can be viewed. Where can you enjoy the adventure but feel safe? We prefer not to travel in tours.
How are the trains? Sounds like they have improved and expanded the train system in Morocco. Where are the trains well established?
Thank you for your advice.

Why not go to the Canary Islands instead? Just lounge on the beach for a few days.

The trains are comparable to what you find in western Europe. https://www.seat61.com/train-travel-in-morocco.htm
I have never heard anything good about a day trip, but three days is different. A person I follow on the Fodors forum is considering doing this, so that made me reconsider my ideas about it. You might check out that forum for ideas. It sounds like a guide could be a useful investment--I mean a human guide--not because of safety but because of the annoyance of touts.
Fly to Fes or Marrakech.
I have no recent experience in Morocco, but my mother and I (roughly 65 and 40 years old) spent a couple of weeks traveling independently around the country in the early 1990s. We didn't feel unsafe. The young men who wanted us to hire them as guides were annoying. It sounds as if that situation has improved somewhat. I wouldn't hesitate to go again.
I can't provide targeted advice for the young blondes; I just do not know how much extra attention they will get.
My wife received a fair bit of unwanted male attention whilst we were in Tangier and that was whilst she was with me AND a local guide. She has absolutely no desire to ever return to Morocco and neither do I. FWIW she's brunette and I suspect blondes will attract a lot more attention.
Many thanks all for the advice! Train link is very helpful. I will factor this all in to our travel plans.
