More time visiting El Rastro vs more time in Toledo next Sunday

We will stay in the La Latina neighborhood this week. On Sunday we are thinking we will visit the El Rastro flea market before going to Toledo for two nights. We enjoy visiting museums and unfortunately four of Toledo’s museums (Army, El Greco, Jewish and Visigothic) will be closed on our full day in Toledo on Monday.

I’m looking for opinions on whether we should skip El Rastro altogether and get to Toledo earlier next Sunday, or make a brief visit to El Rastro and get to Toledo to visit some of those museums.
Thanks for any tips and suggestions. We will have a full day Monday to take in Toledo’s other sights.

I love a good fleamarket. Unfortunately, El Rastro is not one. it’s mostly foreign made junk that maybe was silk screened with something local and semi-creative. A little bit of vintage clothing, but absolutely no antiques to rummage through. Missing it would be no great loss.

I’d skip El Rastro. Decades ago it was nice, but now it’s as Scudder described. Most cities and towns will have outdoor markets as good or better than El Rastro and you’ll need to worry less about pickpockets.

@Scudder and Jaimeelsabio, thanks for your input. We will plan accordingly. I appreciate the many good tips you two and others post here!
