We are planning a visit to Montserrat as part of our Barcelona trip in mid October. We have 3 days available - a Sat, Sun or Monday - suggestions as to which as far as what is open and less busy? Saw a previous posting as to Montserrat day trip itinerary but new suggestions welcome. We like to hike so walking/hiking there OK for us. Thank you.

To start with, Monday would probably be the least busy day, now for me weather would supersede busyness, I would wait to make the decision for when you have a better sense of the weather of the day, this day trip can easily be done by ones self. It can get quite cloudy and or rainy in Montserrat.

I was gonna say the same, adding that the w/end of the 12th is a long holiday... so many locals will be heading away.

Go early, take the early train from Plaza Espana. You want to miss the crowds.
