Needing advice for the timing for public transport to Monserrat tomorrow. We have 13:00pm tx to the boys choir. Thinking we should shoot for the 9:26 or 10:26am train from Plaça España? I know the funicular is not working so we need to take the rack railway? Any advice on timing and logistics? It was confusing to look up.

I realise your tomorrow is "today", so perhaps this isn't useful to you anymore, but for others in the same conundrum... let's clarify concepts:
- From the train station, there are two ways to ascend to the Monastery of Montserrat, either via "telefèric" (cable car) or via "cremallera" (rack train)
- At the mountain, from the monastery to further ascend to the top, you have "funiculars" (Sant Joan and Santa Cova)
- From Barcelona, at Pl Espanya FGC station, you need to choose whether you'll ascend to the monastery via telefèric or cremallera, since the tickets are different and the station at Montserrat to get off as well: Aeri de Montserrat for telefèric and Monistrol de Montserrat (the next station) for cremallera. You can't switch once you have the ticket.
I am not aware of either telefèric or cremallera not working... in any case, you'd find out when purchasing the tickets at Pl Espanya should that be the case.
