Montserrat Hotel Abat Cisneros reservations

I'm trying to book this hotel for a trip in May 2015. It seems that the latest reservation date is currently December 31, 2014. Does anyone know when they open up reservations for dates in 2015?

Hi Eric,
Made a quick call on your behalf... you'll be able to book for next May at the beginning of October or else, if you want to book now, you can drop them an email addressed to Silvia at reserves@larsa-montserrat.com and she'll happily help you.
Enjoy!

Wow! That's going above and beyond. Thanks for your reply.

Looking forward to 2+ weeks in Spain next May.

My pleasure :)

Not that I want to meddle... but why would you want to stay overnight in Montserrat I wonder? Unless you have a very (very!) specific reason to do so, there's not that much to do for a whole 24h in Montserrat. Most of us, and visitors, take a train from Barcelona to Montserrat -there are several trains per hour- and within an hour and a half you've reached your destination (including the journey from the station at the feet of the mountain to the monastery, either by cable car or rack train). You spend say 3 hours visiting the monastery, relics, several caves, museum plus a further 2 hiking in the trails of the mountain while having a picnik and you're ready to go back to Barcelona... in all, if you take the train in Barcelona say at 9am, you're back at 6 or so... and you have still plenty of time to do further things in the city until midnight. Note 10-11 is not that late in our schedule. But again.. I'm sure you have a reason to be willing to stay there anyway :)

I would agree with Eric and for me Montserrat is one of the most amazing places I have ever been. Take a train early in the day. Try to be in the cathedral when the choir sings. Take the tram down to the stations and be amazed by the different artist represented. We spent the day exploring, relaxing and taking it all in. I love it it but was ready to head back to Barcelona at the end of the day.

My tentative plan is to arrive in Barcelona from the US and immediately to head to Montserrat for two nights. The first day is pretty shot from traveling, so I will have one full day (Sunday) to experience Montserrat. From what I understand, mornings and evenings are quite peaceful once the hordes have left. Monday morning I will return to Barcelona and will start the RS Spain tour that afternoon with two nights in Barcelona.
