We will be in Barcelona on a conference in early November. Is is possible to go to Montserrat via train on our own in the afternoon? How many hours would you suggest? Do not want to go out to Barcelona without seeing Montserrat :). Thank you in advance

If I recall correctly, the train ride was an hour to the cable car, then a 10 minute or so ride up the mountain. We did it on our own and spent less than 2 hours there, seeing the church and walking around, but didn’t go on any of the walking paths. My guess is you can do it, but check the train schedule and the hours the church is open to determine if it’s feasible with your conference schedule.

We went on our own, not on a tour and took the early train. It was great, recommend the early train.
