Mid December Alhambra tickets

I noticed that December tickets are open to purchase, so I'm going to get them right now. I was thinking of an afternoon slot for these reasons: the morning will feel less rushed for us (it will be several days into our trip), maybe we will miss the majority of the tour groups, and I read that the light in the late afternoon is beautiful in the winter (I do photography). I was debating between 1 pm and 2 pm for the Nasrid Palace entrance time - any thoughts??

Thanks in advance!

My only thought is that although entry is on a timed basis, once one enters there is no time limit on viewing. It could feel a bit more crowded as the day goes on.

Keep in mind that you can only enter the Nasrid Palaces once. The same for the Charles V Palace (the museum) and I think one or two other areas. I think it's hard to predict how much time a person will want to spend in the Nasrid Palaces. As a photographe, you'll need extra time if you're trying for photos not full of other people. For that reason, I wouldn't want too late an entry time for the Nasrid Palaces.

The entire complex takes more than half a day for a full visit even if you're not big on photography; the Alhambra is large. Some of the buildings aren't open every day, or for the entire day. I made a point of going first to the visitor center to find out the day's schedule. If you don't show up until the afternoon (I don't know whether that would be your plan), there's a possibility you'll find you've missed your chance to see something that was open only in the morning.
