I don't think it gets a lot of pressure. We just bought ticket when we walked up. No one was there but that was Dec also.

I don't know about the bell tower, but the Mezquita is massive and I can't imagine not being able to walk up and buy tickets.

We went in June one afternoon. The Mezquita was closed for lunch but we bought tickets at the booth. There was a very short line. We were one of the first people to get in after lunch and we went to the far side right away. There were no other people around and it was like we had the place to ourselves!

We always travel off season and have always just walked up for tickets. It’s never been an issue,

Linda, FYI, when I was in Cordoba in 2016, entry into the Mesquita was free from 8:30 to 9:30 am, until everyone was ushered out for mass in the Cathedral, which is inside the Mesquita. I imagine worshippers can just stay for Mass. This did not include any tour or the bell tower, but can certainly allow you a good look and walk-through, with explanations from a guidebook.
