Hi. Should I get advance tix for Mezquita in cordoba? We are going in a day trip to cordoba so I prefer not making an advance reservation if possible. Thx.
We did not and the queue moved pretty fast at the ticket booths. It was not on the level of being unpleasantly over run like the Alcazar in Seville or the Prado in Madrid. Most don't realize it is still a church for worship and free to enter 8:30-9:30 Monday through- Saturday.
We went in May 2023 and did not. We purchased them online the day of an hour or two before we wanted to go. It may depend on when you will be there, but this often works for us in our travels as I do not like booking everything ahead of time.
Since the day of your visit isn’t definite, just buy them when you get there. Time of year and time of day will affect line lengths.
We were there three weeks ago and walked right up to the counter to purchase tickets. There wasn’t anyone in line.
March 2024 - I had purchased tickets in advance but it would not have been necessary. I asked if I could be allowed entrance an hour before my stated entrance time - No. I had to stick to the time on the ticket, even though it wasn't busy at all.
If you wanted to climb the tower, I would consider advance purchase. When I was not allowed in early, I walked over to the ticket booth. I couldn't get a ticket for an immediate entrance and the only available late afternoon times were not convenient. So, not sure what I missed!
Maybe a more recent visitor can comment on the Tower tickets if that is a concern for you.
