We are traveling with our bicycles, packed into wheeled bike boxes. Can these be taken on metros? The are bulky, but no more so than bulging suitcases on wheels. Thoughts? Experiences?

As long as you can carry them up and down all of the stairs you should be fine. We carried our luggage ( my mom tends to way over pack) from the airport to Puerto delta Toledo without any problems. You might want to avoid rush hours if possible, just for convenience sake.
