Is there a train that goes from the airport in barcelona to the area by Las ramblas/gothic quarter?
You can take a direct bus or the metro from Barcelona’s airport (BCN) to Placa de Catalunya.
The Metro does not go to Placa Catalunya, but to Zona Universaria where you change to the L3 to Drassanes or Liceu, which are stations on the Ramblas closest to the Gothic quarter. That is a rather long route. The Aerobus to Placa Catalunya might be the easiest if that is close to your destination.

Thank you! I looked at the aerobus site you posted what kind of ticket is it? I know one way but I don't know what the other choices mean.
The other options include Barcelona transport passes for 2,3,4, or 5 days.

Thank you, for 4 one way tickets it's about 29 euros is it cheaper to take an Uber or taxi do you think? We will have luggage.
With 4 people, I'd go with a taxi from the official taxi rank.
I would definitely take a taxi, but many streets in the old town are fully pedestrianized so do not be surprised if you are dropped off a block or two away from your destination.
