Menorca or San Sebastian in summer

Wondering if any body can help me to choose about San Sebastian and Menorca during the summer.
I program to spend 24 days in Spain during August 2019 .
I will visit Cuenca , Teruel , Saragoza and after this itinerary I hesitated between going to spend 5days in San Sebastian and the neighbors or to flight to Menorca for 5 days .IAfter I will fligh to Lisboa,,visit Evora and Caceres ,Salamanca and Madrid.
To have a stay between all those cities I hesitated between to visit San Sebastian or
Menorca. I appreciate alive atmosphere ,a nice nightlife ( restaurants and bars still open late at night ), and particularly a traditional architecture , picturesque beaches to swim sometimes and occupying the other time in nature and in a festival of music ..
Any opinion is appreciated.

And for the other considerations also?(beaches, food, beauty of towns..).Do you think that during the fiesta(Pedrera Viva Festival for example or any other festival, it is interesting to stay 5 days in Menorca ?.Perhaps there is the possibility to go to Formentera for an excursion ?

I haven't been to Menorca, so I can't help with the Menorca-vs.-San Sebastian decision. The Basque Country is a good place to be in August when so many other places are sweltering, and there are many nice places to see there.

Have you investigated your transportation options between Evora and Caceres? They are not plentiful.

Food? San Sebastian without a doubt.
Beaches? Menorca.
Nightlife? Probably Menorca but even better in Ibiza.
Mallorca will provide all of what you are looking for, more than Menorca will.
The Balearics will be hotter in summer than San Sebastian.

Thank you acraven and JC for your replies.
From Evora to Caceresk will take the bus I think.
My dream is to visit both of Menorca and Ibiza. But there is no direct connection between them.
I have visited Mallorca some years ago.
This is why I would like to change my way to Menorca or Ibiza or San Sebastian.
For the moment most of the opinions in the forum appreciates Menorca much more then Ibiza .But I can't confirm it .
The ideal is to visit them both as I said .i don't know if a direct connection can be found in the future .
The only hike for San Sebastian is the climate.
For Caceres ,it is possible to inverse the itinerary and fligh from Menorca to Madrid ,rent a car and continue to Salamanca ,Caceres , drop off the car there and take the bus to Evora and the train to Lisboa.? Or fligh from Menorca to Lisboa (there is a direct flight) and return to Madrid after visiting Evora caceres and Salamanca.

It's the cross-border travel leg I'm concerned about, in whichever direction. One of the buses I found leaves Evora at 11 PM and arrives in Caceres between 3 and 4 AM. That would not be acceptable to me.

There's a good chance you'll need to change buses in Badajoz (which I haven't been to); check to be sure you aren't going to have a long layover there, unless there's stuff you want to see in Badajoz.

As this forum is predominantly frequented by Americans you'll find that Ibiza (and the Balearic Islands in general) do not feature on many American travellers radar and therefore you'll find little input on questions regarding those islands, particularly Ibiza.

Ibiza does have a well deserved reputation as a party island and a destination for young partygoers however it's not all big clubs and drinking contests. Ibiza Town is fantastic for nightlife and if you want lively bars and restaurants then I can't think of a better place. Portinax, Cala Llonga, Puerto San Miguel and Santa Eulalia are all quieter parts of the island and a complete contrast to the hedonism of San Antonio and Playa D'en Bossa.
