Does any body know if i can get a medical dressing changed in a pharmacy in Barcelona i am staying near Avinguda del paral-lel or failing that any recommendations for a walk in medical center, i have applied for EHIC card but it has not arrived, contacted private medical center they want 70 euros to change dressing , (it takes 5 mins to change in UK.) I have medical cover but dressing is excluded. Arrive in Barcelona Aug 1st this week, please help. my own doctor has supplied dressing for me to use so just need someone to change dressing. Preferably some where i can go on fri and sat as i note a lot of places closed sat. many thanks .

70 Euros sounds like a lot of money. But if you can make an appointment and be in and out it may pay versus a walk-in clinic where you could wait a long time and still have to pay something.

The UK is still in the EU, (for a little while longer) so your insurance card should be all you need to show and all services paid for.

Check out IAMAT (International Association for Medical Assistance to Travellers) https://www.iamat.org
They list English speaking doctors who have volunteered to charge only the local rate for medical services. We've belonged to IAMAT for years via a small contribution. Until this year they have provided a booklet listing all the doctors in many world-wide countries, alsong with health alerts and other information. We just take the pages for the countries we would visit. They now have everything only online.
