We love local festivals, fairs, and often try to plan travels around them. I realize that "northern Spain" is a generic reference as is the month of May. We are looking at travels in Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, Basque, Navarre, Rioja and the Bayonne area of France. If anyone has experience with, or websites that list local festivals, I would be grateful!

Hi Kay, speaking in general I would say you shouldn't have a problem finding local fiesta. Off the top of my head I can think of May 15 San Isidro in Cenicero, May 12th inSanto Domingo de la Calzada, both in La Rioja. In Estella at the end of May is the fiestas de la Puy.
here is a website that may help, it is a general listing of fiestas throughout Spain. The link goes to May in La Rioja, but it is easy to navigate.
