Are the markets in Basque villages at all similar to those in Provence? We found many well-priced items to bring home as gifts and souvenirs. From the pictures I've seen on websites, it seemed that the Basque markets were mostly fruits, vegetables, etc. I'd love to find berets, espadrilles, leather goods, etc. that aren't as pricy as the ones I"ve seen in the classic shops. What do you think?

From a Basque local...do not expect souvenirs or gifts in Basque markets, it´s mainly food and local produces.
