Mallorca itinerary questions

Hi Everyone!
On November 12, about, we land in Palma for a 5 night stay before flying out again.
Initial plan was to rent a car from the airport and travel inland for 2 days before looping back to Palma for the duration, but was not able to land on a location and understand the weather inland to be possibly soggy that time of year.
New plan being considered is to stay the 5 nights in Palma and daytrip, perhaps in a rental car, a few times to some interesting places. We can afford to rent a car for the entire time even if we don’t use it much, or perhaps taxi or tour guide places and skip the car.
Would really appreciate any reactions to either of these ideas. I am reading through the historical Mallorca posts and finding them useful, thanks to all for those.

What makes you believe that the inland might be soggy in November? There's not really much difference between the coast and inland at any time of year. It's only the mountains that experience cooler weather and occasionally snow but that's unlikely in November.

A car is the best option for exploring the island but having one and basing yourself in Palma is not a good idea particularly if your accommodation doesn't have dedicated parking.

I would consider basing myself somewhere other than Palma. It's easier to visit and park in the large underground lot close to the cathedral and explore the city on foot.

Where you base yourself is a decision you'll have to make based on a number of personal preferences. There's no real bad option other than S'Arenal and Magaluf (two areas best and easily avoided) as everywhere on the island can pretty much be reached within an hour's drive.

We always stay in Llucmajor because we have a timeshare there. We take day trips for there all the time and with a couple of exceptions have always rented a car. We've never had a guided tour so can't offer any advice on those but doing it yourself is so easy.
