Malaga, Spain - central hotel and if there is a train running on Sunday April 3rd.

Hola,
My fiends and i are traveling from BC, Canada to Nerja Spain for a two week holiday in Mid March. We will spend our last night in Malaga on April 2nd. I would like to confirm that there is an early morning train on Sunday April 3rd that leaves downtown Malaga about 4 a.m. to the Malaga airport. Does anyone have insight into confirming the train is running that day.

If there is transportation from the city center, and we are in luck... I would appreciate if you could suggest a hotel in downtown Malaga that is close to the train that takes us to the airport.

This will be my fifth time to Nerja however I've not done the train yet. I look forward to connecting here with people who have some insights and learning from others.

I don´t think the trains is working so early, normally the first one is about 5:30 am, but you can take a taxi to the airport, around 30-35 euros from Malaga historic centre.

I´d recommend you Hotel Marriot Malaga Palacio. Next to Malaga Cathedral.

There is no train prior to 0520 any day of the week

and also too early for the bus.
Taxi is all you have, my guesstimate about €25 plus but I have never needed.

I like to stay at the Room Mate Larios and their desk will call you a taxi ahead of time, just let them know --
technically the taxi isn't allowed to come to the plaza since it is pedestrian-only,
but he will idle about 50 meters west of the plaza and wave you down. More than two people means it isn't any more expensive per person than taking the train.

I have stayed in the city and had a taxi to the airport for an early flight, but I have also stayed at the Holiday Inn near the airport which had a shuttle, and I also think I took the bus from that location once.

Are you sure you need to be at the airport that early? That seems unusually early. One things at that time in the morning checkin and security lines are short.
