Malaga Ronda Seville Granada Barcelona in 7 days

Four of us have about 7 or 8 days and would like to fly into Malaga head straight to Ronda for an overnight then Seville two nights and Granada one night then fly to Barcelona for a couple of nights then home. What is the best way to get from Malaga to Ronda to Seville to Granada?

What exactly are you expecting to see while you are there? Seems like you'll see a lot of bus rides, trains and airports. The one night in Granada especially is problematic. It takes at least 3 hours to get from Sevilla to Granada, not counting the check-in/check-out and local transit. So you see little on arrival in Grenada, and then have little time the next day before heading to the airport. The Alhambra alone is a 4-6 hours adventure, depending on how much time you want to spend there (and whether you stay for lunch). With 2 nights in Barcelona, you'll really only have 1 day to see the city.

May I suggest renting a car and spending your week in Andalusia. With a car, you share the expense and can see some of the smaller hill towns. Driving and parking in Sevilla and Granada are not great, but that can be worked around (maybe drop off the car in Sevilla as a last stop). Or if Barcelona is the primary desire, spend your week there with some daytrips in the region that can be easily done by train.

When is this trip? If it's summer, I'd spend the whole time in/near Barcelona. The Costa Brava usually has pleasant summer weather and there's plenty to see and do. Andalucia is the hottest, driest part of Europe - great for late fall, winter and early spring, but triple-digit temps are not unusual in summer. If it's not summer, then I'd skip Barcelona. You're talking about 6 nights (maybe 7?). If you're flying to/from the US, you'll likely be struggling with jetlag and your first day will be a non-day, and your last day as well unless you have an evening flight. 7 nights gives you 6 days and each time you change locations you lose about 1/2 day. Spend 2 nights in Granada, the rest in Sevilla - with day trips possible to Cordoba (the Mezquita is a wow), Jerez (horse show, sherry bodega tour), the ancient port city of Cadiz, or even the hill town of Arcos.

Hi all,
If it were up to me I’d go for three weeks! But the others have limited time. This will be mid to late November. I’d like to see the highlights since we have limited time. Barcelona is probably wishful thinking. I just found a tour for four days from Madrid to Toledo with one night each in Seville and Granada and Córdoba. It’s rushed but we will have everything worked out for us and have guides and maybe a day or two before or after for Madrid or Barcelona!
I’m doing all the planning and probably the driving so exhausting maybe the tour is worth it.

Be sure that tour allows you time (and provides tickets) to see all of the Alhambra, including the Nasrid Palace. Otherwise, you are not seeing the highlights.

Thinking to include Barcelona (or Madrid) is rather fanciful with your time frame. At best ...

Day
1. Fly in to Malaga. Pick up car. Drive to Ronda (1)
2. Drive to Granada (2) Return car.
3. Alhambra
4. Train to Sevilla (4)
5. Sevilla
6. Day to Cordoba
7. Sevilla
8. Depart Sevilla
