Can anyone recommend a car rental agency in Malaga airport location? I will need a car for 4 days. Another site mentioned Malaga cars. I checked and their prices seemed quite reasonable compared to Europecar.

All the major companies have off-site locations a couple minutes from the airport. In May I’m renting from either Alamo or Enterprise, whichever is less expensive. I keep updating my reservation as the price drops. For Spain, I go through Costco travel and it uses Enterprise and Alamo.

There are many local operators offering a shuttle service to their location just off the airport. We usually use Helle Hollis and find them excellent. Extremely quick pick up and drop off and the prices are good. The cars aren’t brand new so it depends whether that bothers you. Ones I’ve rented have usually had 30,000+km on the clock. I know friends have used Malaga Cars more than once and also had a good experience.

MalagaCars has a good reputation although I usually use Avis/Budget due to favourable rates that I can access.
Goldcar, Marbesol and Europcar have a bad reputation and scores of bad reviews. Their prices often look good but as with most things in life, you get what you pay for.
