Madrid train stations

We will be taking the train from Cordoba to Madrid on a Sunday. There are several train stations to choose.. We are staying close to the airport, near the El Capricho metro stop. What station gives us the best or maybe easiest access to that stop.

You don't have a choice, the train from Córdoba arrives at Atocha.

I’m only familiar with Atocha and Chamartín rail stations. If using the metro, from Atocha (line 1) you could take it to the Gran Vía station where you’d switch to Line 5, then get off at El Capricho station (about 14 stops). I assume you’ll take a taxi to the airport from your hotel since Line 5 doesn’t go to it.

Someone more familiar with the trains may have a better, more efficient, way to get there.

I have no idea where leonelapuzma got the information he/she posted. It is not correct.

Line 1 doesn’t go to Nuevos Ministerios. It goes to Cuatro Caminos. Line 10 doesn’t go to Mar de Cristal. Mar de Cristal is on Line 8. The only other line that goes through Mar de Cristal is Line 4.

Thank you. The gran via transfer station does look the easiest. Blue line to green line. Our hotel has a free shuttle to the airport. I found a good metro map after doing more research. The time is longer than i thought. There is a time limit on your Metro ticket? What do you do if you go over the allotted time?

I know of no time limits on the metro. Other than when arriving at the airport there’s no ticket check when leaving the metro. I usually just take the metro to/from the airport to/from the Sol station and that takes about 45 minutes. During rush hour the metro can be very busy. Also, be ready for some stairs when switching lines, but the way I mentioned shouldn’t have many.
