Planning a two week trip in November. Flying into Madrid and out of Lisbon. Will have a rental car. We generally like to find places we can stay for 3 nights (and do day trips) rather than relocating every night. Tentatively thinking Madrid - ? - Evora - Lisbon. Any suggestions for a place in Spain on the way to Portugal? Does this itinerary make sense?

Keep in mind that you may have to pay excessively high fees, by renting a car in one country &
returning it in a different country.
Are you planning to spend a week in Spain & a week in Portugal?
Have you considered visiting Andalucía ( Córdoba, Granada, Sevilla); very accessible via public transportation,
then flying to Lisbon?
