madrid to caceres

hello all,

i am scheduled to arrive madrid airport at 6:10 am on saturday may 11. I then need to travel to caceres on the same day. i just looked at 4 sites, renfe, trainline, rome2rio, and google maps and both renfe and trainline indicate there are no trains on that day. rome2rio does indicate availability but I don't trust them as much. google maps says only bus service is available. i am wondering if there really is no train to caceres on a saturday or if is this too early for schedules to be published. also, how much time should I allow between arrival in mad to ending up at the bus/train station? last year when I was transiting through mad on my way to venice it took about an hour to get through border control.

would really appreciate your insights. thanks!

Right now the schedule only goes out to 5 May and the train leaves from Madrid’s Atocha station. Looking at the schedule for Saturday 4 May, trains depart Madrid at 08:50, 10:55, and 16:38.

Last year it took 1.5 hours to clear immigration and it will take about an hour to get to the train station depending on the transportation mode you choose to get there.

@ blaso and jaimeelsabio:
thanks for your replies. right after I posted I went to the trainline site on my PC and noticed that tickets were listed only until the 5th. i didn't notice the highlighted prices on my phone app. i will keep checking until the availibility opens up for the 11th. i agree with your estimate for getting to the train to caceres. i will aim for 10:55 am departure to have a comfortable cushion.
