Madrid Restaurants open Christmas Eve

I will be staying in Madrid on Christmas Eve. I am aware that most restaurants are closed on Christmas Eve, but is anyone aware of any Madrid Restaurants open for Christmas Eve dinner?

Thank You.

Go to The Fork and you will find many. I cannot vouch for any of them. We have found, on the rare occasions we are traveling on holidays, some of the best, albeit pricey, meals are at upscale hotels.

As you have brought up, almost all restaurants will be closed on Christmas Eve in Spain. Christmas Eve is a very familiar time in Spain, spent in one's house with the family. I am actually on the same boat as you, I will be stuck in Zaragoza on Christmas Eve, and I have been desperately calling different restaurants to see which will be open on the 24th.

I have come to this conclusion - it is almost impossible to find "Spanish" restaurants open on Christmas Eve. My solution is to try different cuisines, for example a Chinese restaurant or a Turkish restaurant. You will have a higher probability of finding those kinds of restaurants open on the 24th.

As for me, I will be spending my Christmas Eve in the "best Chinese restaurant in Zaragoza" according to TripAdvisor. Good luck in your search! :)

Our experience in Seville was similar. By 4 pm or so everything was shutting down. The only restaurants we saw that were open were in hotels and they were packed on Christmas Day. On advice of a guide earlier in the day, we hit a local grocery store early pm and loaded up for both Christmas eve and Christmas day. Our hotel did serve a breakfast but nothing else. The hotel had a nice area for eating our picnics meals. Actually it was one of our highlights. Probably the most relaxed Christmas we ever had.
