I'm trying to decide between two apartment rentals in Madrid for 4 nights in October. Both are comparable in price, amenities, etc. so I can't decide. One appears to be very close to the Sol metro station. The other is in Plaza San Miguel with a view of Mercado San Miguel. Based on location (appeal of the area, safety, walking distance to cool things), is one better than the other?
(I am also considering one - slightly cheaper but slightly less appealing - in La Latina very near Plaza de los Carros. So if anyone has strong feelings about this area one way or the other, I'd love to hear about them as well).
