Madrid - last week of March 2026

Hello fellow travelers.

How is the weather in Madrid the last week of March? Trying to have a short vacation there at a time of the year when things are not crowded… but I am concerned about the weather… Any “reports”? Thanks!

I have been in Madrid late February, into March, several times, as well as early April. I think that whole stretch is a fine time to visit, figure on temps in the fifties, into low sixties. Perhaps making it better, is that most days are sunny, making it feel warmer than it maybe is. You will need a light jacket, especially in the evening. There will always be decent crowds in Madrid, but like you imply, not oppressive. I would still consider booking things like the Prado and the Royal Palace ahead though.

I’ve visited Spain twice in March. It can be anywhere from chilly needing a scarf to 60 something degrees. The locals will all still be wearing their winter coats even when it hits 60 degrees. I would say come as there are far less crowds.

Not knowing what your concerns are, but for me, weather isn’t an issue. If you really want to go, go. Dress accordingly. I’d rather have temperatures in the 60s than the 90s.
