Madrid hotel ideas

We’re only going to be in Madrid for one night
Any hotel suggestions

I have reserved Hotel Roommate Alba for three nights in January. I have not stayed there before. I booked this boutique hotel based upon location, reviews (see Tripadvisor) and price @$155 per night). It is a 15-minute walk to Atocha and is in a great Madrid location for restaurants and sights. It is relatively new.
Is being close to Atocha important to you? It is also @ 20-minute taxi to the airport.

You don't make clear what your travel plans or objectives are. I'd like to be in a hotel that has things to do nearby in the evening. We liked the Preciados. AFAIR, the subway system in Madrid goes to the airport. You may (?) want a hotel near the airport line.

Thanks for your help thus far 😎
We’re in Toledo and have a rental car.
Arriving in Madrid in the morning and departing with car, heading towards Valencia.
Hopefully this makes sense
No need for airport proximity
Thanks!

Ah, yes. If I were driving in and out transportation logistics would definitely be a high priority in hotel choice—even more than if I were flying or taking trains.

Heads up on driving restrictions for ICE vehicles in the city center! (I know the restrictions exist, but know no details.)

Is there a specific purpose for a single night in Madrid? We still don't have the big picture, but with only two data points, I'd do it the other way. Toledo and Madrid are well-connected. Rather than taking a mighty steel steed into one of the large Cities of The World, I'd get to Toledo with my luggage, see Toledo, and rent a car there for a more rural (??) segment of the vacation. We did Madrid-Seville and rented a car leaving Seville for Andalusia and ending in Granada, where the big-three rental company told me to drive up on the sidewalk and leave the car there.

In fact, I broke my own rule (!) because I wanted to drive for a Carmona-Italica day (just outside Seville). So I put the car in an underground city lot in Seville for a single night, but that was bit of a drag. First stop on the car drive was Arcos, where an elderly Bogus Traffic Warden (Rick Steves term) watched our car with luggage in it.

If there’s no specific reason for Madrid other than to say you were there, it is slightly out of the way if going from Toledo to Valencia. Rather than a night in Madrid, maybe consider that night in either Chinchón or Cuenca. One night is about all you’d need in either to see what they have to offer.

Just booked for Cuenca 😎
Great recommendations!
We’ve been on the road for 3 weeks and now ready for quaint and smaller cities
Thanks
