Hi all,
We just purchased plane tickets to Spain, January 2 - 14. We will be in Madrid Jan 3 -7, staying in the Puerta del Sol area. We are from PR, where Three Kings Day is a big deal. So we want to partake in the festivities in Spain. To that extent I have a few questions:
How difficult is it to watch the parade, "La cabalgata de Reyes"? Do people line up for hours before? Is there a place that is best or not was crowded?
How difficult is it to find places to eat on January 5th and 6th? We plan on visiting El Prado on January 6th (open with reduced hours), and then seeing some of the plazas. I plan on making reservations for dinner, but what about lunch? Our hotel will provide breakfast.
Will Christmas Markets be open in early January? Everything I see says markets are open until January 6th, but for example the official site for the Market at Plaza Mayor says it runs until December 31st.
Last but not least, any restaurant recommendations? I have researched some, but always appreciate recommendations.
Thanks in advance.
