Prado: Free entry from Monday to Saturday between 6 PM to 8 PM and Sundays and public holidays from 5 PM to 7 PM

We visited the Prado during the free hours. Same thing for the Reina Sofía. For us, that was plenty of time to see the works we wanted to see.

Deb, I am afraid you will not have access to "authentic flamenco shows" unless you have very good contacts in the Madrid gypsy community which I do not think is the case. BUT, flamenco shows for tourists like the ones in Casa Bermeja or La Moreria are very good.
