Madrid-andalucia-tangier-Madrid

Hello, need help please. We wont be renting a car we are both bad with directions. But planning to go to: arrive in madrid june 28, 2 nights madrid, train to seville and stay for 2-3 nights, go to cordoba, granada and tangier morocco and fly out of madrid jul 5. Can you help me allocating the dates and does the flow of the places make sense? As we will just go by train mostly. Thank you!!!! Cramming but grateful being able to do a short trip.

This itinerary doesn't look doable. You have 7 nights. I think you have to give up either Granada or Tangier. You can visit Cordoba as a stopover between Seville and Madrid.

If anything, you can do:
Madrid, 2 nights
Granada, 2 nights
Seville, 2 nights you can take bus from Granada to Seville
Madrid, 1 night (stop in Cordoba on way)

I think you need to figure out how long it takes to get between Granada-Tangiers-Madrid.
Also, if you are going to Granada to see the Alhambra you need to book space as soon as possible. Don't commit to the city unless you can ensure you can get tickets.
For some first layer logistical planning, try Rome2rio website for your travel options and times. The challenge may be getting to Alcageris for the ferry to Tangiers. It takes time. Otherwise you'll have to consider flights. Get that part figured out and then work out the rest of the circle.

This itinerary would be a challenge even without Tangier. If you're arriving from North America on June 28 after an overnight flight, you are likely to be very sleep-deprived and jetlagged upon arrrival. Many of us struggle simply to stay awake on Day 1 and do not plan any sightseeing besides walking around outdoors or perhaps a walking tour if the timing works out. So I'd count this as a 6-day trip and would never contemplate 4 cities, much less 5.

I urge you to forget Tangier immediately. Morocco is a fascinating place, but Tangier is a poor introduction to the country and will probably take at least two days of your time due to public-transportation challenges, in exchange for which you'll have a few hours in what is, honestly, an inferior destination.

Even without Tangier, I think this is too much. Remember that you'll need to be back in Madrid on the night of July 4, so your plan looks like this:

June 28: Madrid (2 nights/1 full day)
June 30: Seville (3 nights/2.5 days, with day-trip to Cordoba, so just one full day in Seville)
July 3: Granada (1 night/2 partial days--not the best way to see the Alhambra)
July 4: a few more hours in Granada, then back to Madrid (1 night)

With this schedule, you have only two days during the entire trip when you're not on a plane, a train or a bus (June 29 in Madrid and either July 1 or July 2--whichever day you don't go to Cordoba).

I'm usually reasonably erudite when it comes to advising against Tangier but as it frequently crops up as an itinerary destination I'll cut to the chase.....forget it, it's crap!
