Madrid and Sevilla - early tickets to what attractions?

Hello fellow travelers!

My wife and I will be visiting Madrid and Sevilla in May and were wondering which attractions we should try to book tickets in advance?

In Madrid we were planning to visit: Royal Palace, Prado museum, Crystal palace (any other suggestions?)

In Sevilla we are planning to visit: Royal Alcazar, Cathedral (rooftop tour), Torre del Oro, La Giralda

Advice appreciated! Thanks

Definitely the Sevilla Cathedral rooftop tour. There are only ~20 tickets for each English tour. My rooftop tour tickets went on sale earlier than the cathedral tickets for the same day, so be sure to check those tickets specifically.

Also, it seems to vary whether the rooftop tour also includes Cathedral and Giralda entrance. Mine did; others have found that their tickets do not. Check the details carefully - the ticket title will clearly say if they are included. If it doesn't say, they're not.

Even if your ticket does not include the Cathedral and Giralda, our rooftop guide allowed everyone to stay in the cathedral after the tour. But that did not extend to entrance to the Giralda.

The Crystal Palace was free to enter when I visited it a few years ago. At that time there were no exhibits taking place. There may be a charge if there is an ongoing exhibition.

Entry to the Giralda tower was included with cathedral entry last time I went there. The Torre de Oro is small and once seeing it from the exterior you may decide it isn’t worth paying to go in. You’ll get a better view from the cathedral’s rooftop and Giralda tower.

Definitely book the Royal Alcazar in Sevilla in advance, especially if you want the tour of the Royal Apartments there. The week we were there they were sold out for the whole week.
