Hello Friends,
This will be my first visit to Spain.
How much time would you give from arriving at Madrid airport from the States and then getting to Atocha train station. I want to purchase the ticket online ahead of time so I need help on the timing. Thanks so very much.
Also, if I am quite early to Atocha Station am I able to wait around somewhere after the security and baggage check?

If you are just buying a ticket from the airport to downtown Madrid then just wait until you get through to the airport train station.
If you are trying to catch a train the same day from Madrid Atocha to somewhere else in Spain give yourself 4 hours from your arrival at the airport to catch it from Madrid Atocha.
