We are flying from the US to San Sebastian and will have a five hour layover in Madrid. We are basic economy flyers, so no perks, however I have read that you can pay to use one of the airport lounges depending on availability. We are hoping to do this as we will have flown during the night and would like to use the opportunity to shower/refresh/refuel before heading to our next destination. It appears we will be flying into T4s from the US and then flying out of T4, so from what I can tell the lounge would be Plaza Mayor. Has anyone used this space with success and not been a member of a frequent traveler club of some sort?
Any other advice on navigating this terminal and using a long layover to recover from the overnight flight? We are a family of three (child will be 7) so any advice/tips for this would be greatly appreciated!!
