Madrid 7 Total; 3 70+; 2 Kids

Hello everyone,
Looking for suggestions on hotels in Madrid for March 2026. We’ve all traveled together to Europe before (Rome and Barcelona). We are 7 total (usually book 3 rooms total) 3 70+ adults and two kids 14 and 9. Looking for rooms under $300 USD a night; walkable to most attractions (but we aren’t afraid to walk aimlessly to explore); AC would be great (we can work with fans) and breakfast included. It would also be nice to have an elevator. We are completely open to areas to stay in. Any tips would be great! Thank you so much!

Look at Hotel Europa. They have quad rooms with real beds (not a sofabed), if you’re open to that.

Second vote for the Hotel Europa. Central location to easily get to tourist sites on foot or by metro.

Take a look at HOTEL LIABENY. I stayed there many years ago but they've updated. Gets great reviews. Very central.

Our family of 4 stayed at the Petite Palace Lealtad Plaza in March 2025, and we loved it. We had one room (with balcony), and our kids had separate beds. AMAZING breakfast was included. Petite Palace has lots of other locations, and our recommendation is just about this one at Lealtad Plaza. It was steps away from the Parque del Retiro, close to museums, and maybe a 20 minute walk to the Puerta del Sol area. We loved the location because it was both central and also quiet. Has an elevator. Very close to other hotels that were much more expensive. When we were there in March, the weather was just changing to spring, and we got to see the leaves on the trees in the Parque del Retiro open up and the park really come to life. It was lovely.

At hotel Europa there are some large rooms. The rooms above the main entrance are large, with two queen sized beds. We’ve stayed in the ones on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Unfortunately I don’t remember the room numbers. In the photo it’s the room where the lady is standing.

If you decided to stay there, register at the hotel’s website and there’s a little discount. When making a reservation there’s a place where you can make requests, such as, a room with two beds.

The hotel does charge a one night deposit when making a reservation and it is made via a Banco de Santander website.
