Madrid 10 hour layover

Flying through MAD in about a week. We were just there this past Spring with the RS tour, so we saw a bunch.
Any suggestions on what to do this time? Metro or Bus to the City? What to see?
Or just hang out for all that time in the Iberia Airlines lounge?
TIA!!

No doubt I’d go into town with that much time. There are a thousand ways to spend the time—the time of day would inform which options I perused.

Hello from Wisconsin,
I would look for the quickest way into Madrid proper. Then I would look for the nearest venue to where that quick entry dumped you. For instance: Madrid's main train station is not very far from the Prado.

Now, you might say that you have been to the Prado. Trust me it is worth many visits.

Leave plenty of time for your return to the airport and boarding.

I think there's a direct bus from the airport to Plaza de Cibeles, a short walk from the Prado, Retiro Park, Thyssen Museum, and other sights.

If you'll be coming off an overnight flight, you might want a shower and nap in one of these rooms, which can be booked for daytime use. I think they're downstairs in Terminal 5.
