Hi, I saw posts from 2017 saying there is no luggage store at the train station in Antequera, and I did find one storage business, but it is not open on Tuesdays, which is when we will be coming through. We were hoping to stash our bags and take a tour of the Dolmens before getting on the afternoon train to Cordoba. Are there any updates about places to store luggage? Or any knowledge of tour companies that will secure your knowledge while on tour with them? Thanks!

I haven't been to Antequera, and a quick look at Google turned up the same information you found. If you're willing to take a chance on stopping in Antequera without the certainty of a storage location, you might try what I did in a similar situation in Italy: Walk into a mid-market hotel that's large enough to staff its reception desk all day long, place some money on the counter (I'd go with at least 5 euros, but with multiple bags 10 euros would probably be better), and ask whether you can leave your bags there for a few hours. There's a good chance the employee will be glad to help you out, because that money will be his or hers.

I guess I can't answer the question definitively, but the Antequera station used to be a small wayside, someplace to change trains. They have built a brand new larger station over the last couple years, so maybe things have changed.

Thanks for the idea of offering to pay a hotel receptionist. I guess we could try that in a pinch. It sounds like the high speed train station (we will be coming from Granada) is pretty far out of town. So that means taking our luggage into town. I am not sure how available transportation is into town from the rail station. Yet another research project. I have emailed multiple tour companies, but am awaiting replies. It doesn't sound like any of them will pick you up at the train station. I have searched my eyeballs out on the internet trying to find out if any station in Antequera has luggage lockers. I cannot seem to find this information anywhere. It would make things so much simpler. I can't believe we may have to skip this stop because of this small complication. But our time is limited. Can anyone help, please? Thanks!

Hi, visited Antequerra station many years ago when there was a left luggage facility — many years before they built the new station for the AVE, so I was intrigued. The company responsible for rail infrastructure is ADIF so I checked out this link (in Spanish): https://www.adif.es/-/02030-antequera-av and checked out servicios and it appears that there are no left luggage facilities. Enjoy your visit.
