Lost luggage on vueling

I just flew from Barcelona to Sevilla. When the plane was about to take off, I looked out the window and saw my suitcase. Of course, upon arrival in Seville, my bag was not there. The lost and found was rude and unhelpful. I filed a claim 11 hours ago and keep checking online and the status just keeps saying "no update".

I keep reading horror stories about vueling losing bags forever and the common city is always Barcelona. I am hoping that by some miracle, It will get it delivered to me. My concierge had also been reaching out for me but they are also not getting any answers.

Does anyone have any history with this?

My only experience with the Vueling website was trying to get a refund for refundable tickets. It was terrible. You might consider a trip to the airport, back to Vueling baggage. (Be sure it's when they have arriving flights or customer service might not be staffed.) If you're lucky the bag is there and it's not yet in the system. Worse case, you at least get to speak to a customer service representative who can get into their system and perhaps give you better information.

Not with Vueling, but I've had my luggage lost 5 times. Four times it was delivered to me on the following day. One time, it was missing for five days. I'd suggest you do the following:
1) Call them everyday until it is found
2) Make a list of the contents of your suitcase while it is fresh in your mind
3) Read Vueling's guidance regarding compensation for delayed luggage.
4) Keep receipts for any necessities that you purchase

Good luck to you. Hope you get your luggage. We flew Vueling from Bilbao to Barcelona 12 days ago and one of the bags was damaged. Had to buy a new one in Barcelona.

This is making me very nervous. We fly Vueling from BCN to Palermo in October. My understanding is that we will have to check our bags, even though they are carry on size for the US.

Still no luggage. @april... DO NOT check a bag!! Still no luggage and customer service is worthless. Our small plane was about 3/4 full and there were 15 people in line that their bags didn't make it. I WISH we would have taken a train!!

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this! Be sure that everyone you speak with at the airline has a complete list of your itinerary and a cell phone number/email address where you can always be reached.

Always include a sheet of paper inside your luggage where it's easily seen (but preferably strapped-down) that has your cell phone number, email address, etc., on it; your airline(s), flight date(s), flight numbers and cities; and your trip itinerary for the first several days. Many a luggage tag has been torn off during luggage handling, and the airline will have no way of connecting you with your luggage :-( I always have a couple of these 8"X11" sheets of paper already filled-out with my outgoing info (and a couple of others with my incoming flight info) on it, just in case I have to check a bag at the last minute (perhaps at the gate). FWIW, I also poke a couple of extra zip ties into the paper, because if they're reading my note (even just a random luggage check) then the zip tie I use in place of a lock has already been cut off.

@ April Yes after a long battle, 3 days later. Now they ignore all emails regarding my compensation. Avoid Vueling airlines at all cost!!

No I will not avoid Vueling whenever I see they have the cheapest fares to where I want to go.

About two years ago I had a flight with Vueling from SPU to TXL with a connection in FCO. When I arrived in TXL I, along with one or two other passengers, never got our luggage. I was without it for about two days but in TXL I believe it was a company contracted through their airport that was in charge (not Vueling). Side note, Vueling or just about any other airline contracts luggage handling out, so although it's quick to point the finger at Vueling, it is in reality the contractor that's to blame. I initially thought the issue with my missing luggage had to do with the construction going on at FCO (being that I had to transfer terminals). I'm so glad I got my luggage back because I had happened to pack some expensive gifts in there and I can honestly say I was not a happy camper the first two days I was in Berlin. Vueling offered my a daily compensation but I didn't really need to purchase much and I didn't want to deal with the hassle of sending receipts to Spain from the US. Wasn't worth it in my opinion.

On another note, I happened to purchase a flight with them for an upcoming trip between BCN and Palma, Mallorca. I never even knew about how bad this airline's reputation was until I saw this post on the RS forum. I then searched multiple review websites and came to the conclusion that I better find another alternative before the same thing happens to me again (even though it's a direct 45 minute flight). I didn't want to spend the extra money, but then a sort of miracle fell on my lap. I got an email from Vueling saying that one of the flight legs had to be rescheduled (they bumped me to an earlier flight time). What was great about this was that I was given the option of changing the flight to a different day or cancel it altogether (only the one flight leg, not the whole flight). I went with my instinct and asked for a refund, which I received a few days later (despite many reviews that say people never get compensated; maybe I got really lucky). I opted to just buy another flight with Air Europa, which has a slightly better reputation. I can deal with potential flight delays, but I will be one sour person if you lose my luggage.

Gabriel, I think my concern is the indifference Vueling seemed to provide and the arguing of the reimbursements. Though they may not directly be responsible for the lost luggage, the poor customer service and no follow through is directly Vueling's fault.
Sometimes lost luggage can be a real mess - such as on a cruise or on safari; where the client is just not available to receive luggage or even in range to follow up. It's a hassle.

When you buy a Vueling ticket you are getting what you pay for. Good customer service is expensive so if you want cheap, you get cheap all the way around.
