Hi there, I will be doing a solo trip this Sept. 2019 for 6 nights in Barcelona. Does anyone have any recommendations on centrally located (I like to walk everywhere) places to stay? I would consider a hostel if I can get a room to myself otherwise I would prefer a hotel. Much appreciated.

We stayed at BCN fashion house. Very central location. Great place, smaller, super clean, budget friendly.

We stayed at Hotel Suizo in Barcelona in the Gothic Quarter in November 2018. Everything is very walkable and for Gaudi sites, there is a metro stop literally right outside the door of the hotel. We had a little balcony looking over Carrer de Jaume. Good breakfast buffet included in our price. Any hotel in the Gothic Quarter should give you a good walking location. If you don't have much luggage, you can even walk from the airport shuttle or train station at Plaza de Catalunya.

My sister stayed at the BCN Fashion House a few months ago. She was on a budget, so she took a room with a shared bath (worked fine); there are also rooms with ensuite baths available.
She loved the location; she was able to walk lots of places including to and from the airport bus, and the supermarket across the street was great for some inexpensive meals. The only potential issue is that the desk is not staffed for much of the day. If she had questions, she had to be sure to ask them during breakfast (even if she wasn't having breakfast), as that was the only time she could be sure someone would be around. She said she would certainly stay here again.
