Logrono vs. Laguardia to explore Rioja region

I realize there have been many discussion on the best place to stay in the Rioja region, but after reading them all I still can't decide!

My husband and I will spend 3 nights in the Rioja region, and we're considering Laguardia bc of it's smaller-town feel, beautiful views, and walkability to some wineries and restaurants. We will have a car, and will also be visiting Pamplona and some of the Basque region. I did read we will have to park outside the Laguardia walls- not sure if this is an issue?

However I see many people chose Logrono due to it being more lively with tons of local tapas bars in walking distance, and a greater base point for wine tours. Any advice on companies to use for wine tours is also appreciated! We do have a car but don't want to drink and drive.

Any advice is welcomed!

For the wine tours I recommend you visit Haro. As a professional on wine, I found very easy visit El Barrio de la Estación with something like 5 to 6 wineries, all interesting, specially Viña Tondonia, Roda, Muga and La Rioja Alta

This place is knowing as the Golden Mile of Wines. You can find a lot of Hotels, all the prices, and is an easy place to visit another places in Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Alta as well. From There, Bilbao is and hour by car in a great Highway.
