I've read there are no lockers at the train station in Cordoba but there are in the bus station across the street. Are these lockers large enough to hold a carry-on size luggage? We will be stopping for the day on our way from Sevilla to Madrid.

Yes, the lockers are big enough for carry-on sized luggage.

I haven't used the lockers in Cordoba, but I've read online comments to the effect that demand sometimes exceeds supply, so it would be smart to do a bit of Googling to find one or two alternatives, just in case all the lockers are full when you arrive. Just Google luggage storage Cordoba.
Someone here suggested it might pay dividends to walk rapidly from the train to the bus station, because you aren't likely to be the only person on that train who wants to snag a locker.

I would recommend avoiding a company called Cordoba Locker (https://cordobalocker.com/en/). I had an issue entering the door, and although I eventually resolved it, when I tried calling their listed number, the recording said it was out of service, so you have no means of contacting them if you have a real issue.
