Leon albergue or pension for a pilgrim going to Santiago

I've walked a number of caminos to Santiago and Roma. I have always done it with a friend. This October I plan to walk from Leon to Santiago by myself. I will be okay by day 3 but am a bit nervous starting and want a good place to sleep when I first arrive. A place on the Camino route with other pilgrims. Any thoughts? Gracias.

Check with Caminoways.com-they are the best-even if you don't use their services their advice is terrific.

If you are using an app like Wise Pilgrim or Camino Ninja, it will show you some great albergues. Do read reviews for them on booking dot com though, as Leon is quite the party city on weekends and some places are very loud. I stayed in Globetrotters for 2 nights and thought it would be great. But the noise from outside was horrible and they couldn't open the windows, so it was very hot and stuffy. Look for something that is central to the cathedral but on a side street.

Treat yourself and stay at Parador San Marcos at Plaza San Marcos. The Camino passes right in front of it. You can get over jet lag and get a good breakfast to start your long walk. Walk out its front door, turn right and you’re on the Camino. It does have a special Pilgrims rate.
