We will be in BCN from Oct 1 through Oct 5, when we leave for Seville. i have narrowed our BCN hotels to the Le Meridien or the Alexandria. There is a price difference between the two. Being Hilton Gold, we would receive free wifi and breakfast for the lower cost Alexandria. Does anyone know either of these hotels? Locations good, bad or indifferent? Any comments or suggestions would be helpful.

The Alexandra by Doubletree is a little further from the action, but still served by metro and walkable to some sightseeing. Le Meridien is closer to the Ramblas action, a little closer to the airport bus stop at Placa de Catalunya, and easier walking to the cathedral and old town/ Bari Gotic sites.

Le Méridien is a much better location, especially if you like to walk.
