Laundry at Hotel Europa

Hi guys,

After all the suggestions we settled on Hotel Europa in Madrid. We will be staying there for 7 days. I was wondering and no where could I find if there is a laundromat we can use inside the hotel. I was specifically looking for a laundromat we can use ourselves (like a coin laundry). Would anyone know is there is one at Hotel Europa or nearby? Thanks!

If there's a self-service laundromat inside the hotel, I think it would surely be mentioned on the hotel's website. But hotels of that class often provide laundry service. If it's priced per-piece, it will be quite costly (by my standards), but sometimes hotels charge a flat rate for up to X kilograms of clothing, and that can be reasonable since it means you don't have to spend your valuable vacation time dealing with laundry.

If you're not happy with the laundry service available in the hotel (if any), or its price, just ask the front desk where you can find a self-service or drop-off sort of place. I'm sure that question is often asked.

... simple Google search, huh? :))).... https://www.google.com/maps/search/lavanderia/@40.4172921,-3.7060251,17z

The closest are Pressto --an international chain of dry cleaners in several countries-- and, to the south, Tintoreria Madrid-Sevilla, a more traditional service, for nostalgics of a more personalised service. Also, I believe they also offer an ironing service -Pressto certainly does.

Note that none of these two are coin-based though, for those you'd have to walk further (ie: Lavandería automática Cervantes) or perhaps to laundry services at other areas (ie. La Latina). The coin-based services tend to be available in less "affluent" areas, so to speak.

As Ann said, if (if!) the hotel offers this service -not many hotels do- it's likely to be costly.

When you check in, if you don't like your room ask for another. We stayed twice, once with the RS tour and before we returned to the US on our own. With the tour our room was quite bare bones. The next room was better. There is a drop off laundry just a few blocks away where they do it and fold by the kilo. Quite reasonable. The front desk can direct you.

Stayed there four times - no self serve laundry in the hotel.

First, I would suggest you to make sure that there is not such a service already at the Hotel Europe, because everyone needs to do the laundry. If it was not the case, in Madrid you can find almost anything you look for - including laundries as you mentioned above and even delivery services, so you don't have to worry about that and focus on enjoying your holidays. As an alternative of the option that Enric offered you, I would recommend you to go to Centronet, which is a just two minutes away. I went there and the service was quite good and they let you wash yourself (coin laundry) or use the traditional way. Here you cand find more information about the establishments they have in Madrid.

2 years ago, I found a coin-op laundry in Madrid, about a 10-minute walk from the Europa. It may well have been the one Enric linked to. There wasn't anything closer.
