Google maps shows a 7hr 46 min trek from St Jean de Pont, France for what appears to be the first village on the road to Burgete, Spain. Are there villages along that route for water, rest stops and food and even perhaps worthwhile sights? As we will be approaching our 70th year of life, celebrating more than 50 years of life shared, we plan to approach the pilgrimage in manageable segments, she says with a smile and a wink. We have 3 years to train for the adventure. I am piecing it together from various website resources. A recommended single detailed reference would be more than welcome.
This website forum is invaluable. I used it extensively to plan my Camino last year. Information about gear, routes, where to sleep, food, feet, weather, towns, ages, why are you going, bedbugs, etc. is all discussed. If you are on FB, there are plenty of FB pages too.
Depending on where you live, there may be a group from the American Pilgrims On the Camino ( APOC) that meets up in your town.
Please feel free to message me. I am planning on going again next year when I am 62.
