Lagos de Covadonga Access

I ill be going to the lagos in early August. Last time I was there (July 2022) you could drive up if you were past the checkpoint/gate on CO-4 in Covadonga before 7:30 AM. Is that still the case?

It seems to depend on when you intend to visit.

From the Asturias tourism website:

The only access authorised for private vehicles to access the Covadonga Lakes is the CO-4 road, however, and in order to ensure the sustainability of this unique enclave, during peak seasons a special public transport system is in place and access to private vehicles is prohibited 24 hours a day.

A different website says:

Off-peak season. Another option is to wake up very early and get to Covadonga to take the road before 8:30.

Yet another sites recommends driving up before 7:30. (Off peak season)

Thanks. I saw those same 3 sites with their conflicting info, hence my question here. I suppose I can get there before 7:30 and hope for the best, with the bus as an alternative if access is closed to private vehicles.

How was your Lagos de Covadonga trip
Would love to know tips about what not to miss
We are planning to go there on Sunday 25 Oct, driving from Bilbao so I think we will need to take the shuttle
Is there any website and email address for the Lagos de Covadonga tourism?

Sorry, I know the website. I meant to ask for the email address of the entity that manages the Logos de Covadonga,
The website says that shuttle service needs to be used for 24, 25 and 31 Oct.
Also when I check the bus schedule, it is every 2 hours on the hour + an additional bus 15 min before - from estacion

Possibly not an issue in October but book your bus up to the Lagos in advance. We only tried to do that a few days before and everything was sold out. We ended up in a shared taxi to the Lagos.

Same thing for getting from Las Arenas to Poncebos. All booked days in advance.
