After 6 days in San Sebastian mid-Sept., we want to spend 2-3 days based in Laguardia before heading to Barcelona. We are traveling with another couple and think driving to Barcelona would be the best/scenic/fun way to get there from Rioja. I would welcome your suggestions for reliable car rental companies in San Sebastian which offer reasonably priced drop-off rates to leave the car in BCN.
Also suggestions for alternate transportation from Laguardia would be considered.

I suggest you look at Autoeurope (consolidator) for quotes that will include the drop off fee. Then check the reputation of whoever comes out cheapest.
Driving from La Rioja to Barcelona: in a day, or do you have time to spare? If you have a spare day, Zaragoza is worth it.

We always rent from Avis. You can pick it up and drop it off at the airport in each city. Avis’ one way fee was $118, and an airport surcharge $50, when I plugged in some dates.
