Looking for 'reviews' of this night experience vs a day tour. (And, also would happily take your thoughts/recs on La Pedrera v Casa Batllo). TX
We took the night 'Experience' tour in late-May 2024, and really enjoyed it. It added a unique element to see the night warriors lit up with special effects (motion lighting) after touring the main building and alcoves. From one vantage point of the rooftop, you can also look over to see Sagrada Familia in the distance, which had ancillary lighting around it and neighboring cranes/equipment. Casa Milà is one of those sites that we wouldn't necessarily see a second time, but glad we did get to experience as part of our 'Gaudí 101' visit.
The night tour of Casa Mila did not include a visit to the first floor (that is, the main residence of the owner). So that might have affected my impression that Casa Mila is not as fanciful and boundary-breaking as Casa Batlló.
But a night tour is fun. Very uncrowded. And seeing Sagrada Família from the rooftop was great.
And if you wanted some more modernism recommendations beyond Gaudí, I absolutely loved:
Casa Amatller (next door to Batlló)
Palau de la Musica Catalana
Hospital de Sant Pau
And in terms of Gaudí I found Park Guell to be a bummer. It was way too crowded to feel like I could enjoy it.
I might do La Pedrera during the day and Batllo at night if you're most interested in the interiors, flip if you want to see Segrada Famila. I just don't recall being able to see it from Batllo rooftop.
I agree about the other Modernisme masterpieces mentioned above. They are pretty underrated by visitors who just want Gaudi. I will mention Casa Vicens as a Gaudi house that is, I think, a really great counterpoint and a beautiful decor.
