La Pedrera and Park Guell

I am planning to visit these 2 sites one morning. (end of sep 2020)

To buy the timed ticket for both these sites I would like to know if there is any favorable order in which these 2 sites should be visited. Hubby and I are morning people so don't mind getting to any of these sites in the first-morning slot. The Saturday we are planning to visit these sites will also be the day of La Merce festivities. Not sure if that will impact any train schedule, taxis or public transportation in general.

Also how much time will be enough for each of these sites?

thanks for your responses

Do Park Guell first since it’s way further out. We took a cab up there first thing of the day and did our visit. Then we had a very nice stroll down and went about the rest of our site seeing for the day. Also, Park Guell is extremely strict on timing - they wouldn’t let us in early or late. They even have a counter to count people in and then count them back out to make sure the crowds stay under capacity. La Pedrera is more laid back on entrance time.

Note that Sagrada Familia is extremely strict on entrance time as well.

It’s a busy day. But if you buy a combined ticket you can see La Pedrera + Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site. Then maybe Park Guell later?

Valerie makes a good case for Park Guell first, but I'd make the case for Pedrera first since the time there is kind of self-limiting. You go in, upstairs, to the roof and exhibits, through the apartment, and back down. You can linger over various things but it's not like a park where you could spend hours if you wanted. I'd say two hours is plenty for La Pedrera. Also, re crowding, a crowded interior is a lot more unpleasant, I think, than a crowded park. That also argues for Pedrera first.

I felt seasick on La Pedrera's roof, it's quite an experience. Never went to Park Guell, so take all above with a grain of salt.

There are good arguments either way. What time of year is your trip? Parc Guell might be coolish early in the morning off season.

Time of year, yes. In March my experience with Parc Guell was different - went in a side entrance and they let us in early. If I were doing these 2 myself on the same day, I would probably go with Dick’s reasoning. But that is just me.

Thanks, everyone for your response. Definitely there are arguments for both sides. these timed entry tickets are making me plan a perfect day itinerary.
