We're going to Spain next spring, already setup with a cruise and RS tour. But I'm thinking of adding Jerez to the start of the trip. Flying from the US, would Sevilla be the best option? If so, what's the best way to get to Jerez? Or is flying into Madrid and going to Jerez from there a better plan? And then a couple of days later, what's the best way to get from Jerez to Barcelona?
You can fly from the US to Jerez with a change in Madrid.
You can fly to Jerez from Barcelona on Vueling, every day except Wednesdays. Price s less than 50 euro.
If I were you, I would book a single ticket to Jerez on Iberia/American. You will have to change planes in Madrid but your luggage will be checked through to Jerez.
A taxi from Jerez airport to the city is easy to find..many taxis wait outside the terminal.
If you want a hotel recommendation in Jerez, please give me your desired price range.
I can also recommend a few restaurants.
We flew directly to Jerez de la Frontera from Madrid. The Jerez airport isn’t very far out of town and pretty small. Jerez is an hour’s drive from Sevilla.
With as many nice places one could visit near Barcelona the reason to visit Jerez on the other side of the country escapes me.

Simple, really. We'll be in Spain and the western Med for a month, but my wife really wants to see the Andalusian horses, and the only scheduled event that fits our schedule is at the beginning.
Jerez își a delightful city! It's small enough to be able to walk anywhere in the center, easily. Beautiful architecture, the horses, great restaurants, really welcoming locals....
I'll be there again in March..looking forward.
It makes sense now. Enjoy the equestrian center and show.
