  • Plaça de catalunya

Oct 19: 6h train to Seville

  • centro historico de Seville

Oct 20: Seville

Granada as a day trip from Sevilla is not something I would recommend. Consider reorganising your last 5 days ...

Oct 17 Drop Montserrat and spend the day in Barcelona
Oct 17 Fly from Barcelona to Granada (2nts) in the evening
Oct 18 Alhambra
Oct 19 To Sevilla (2nts)
Oct 20 Sevilla sights
Oct 21 To Córdoba (1nt) for Mezquita
Oct 22 Early train to Madrid for departure flight

A day trip to Granada will be tough - its about 3 hours each way. You will need to time your Alhambra visit perfectly to be able to see it. I don't have train/bus schedules in front of me but if there is a 9AM train it would get in somewhere around 12. You could probably swing an afternoon Alhambra visit and MAYBE grab a cab up to San Nicholas viewpoint. Depending on when the return train is. I love Granada more than most places but this might not be enough time. Think through the logistics.

Does your return flight allow for a 3 hour train to Madrid PLUS an hour to the airport PLUS getting there 2-3 hours before your flight departs? I don't think this is possible. Let's say the flight is at 3. That means you need to be to airport by 12:30 Means you need to be to Madrid by 11:30. There is probably an 8 AM train but this is....way too tight for me.

Look into flying from Seville to Madrid or going directly from Granada to Madrid if you go to Granada. If you skip Granada, look into the Alcazar of Seville. It's not the Alhambra but it still gives a good view of Moorish palaces.

That makes sense, I will leave Granada for the next time then, I might stay oct 21 in Seville, go to Cordoba for a day trip, or go back to Madrid, and go home on 22.

Thanks for the help.

Something to consider: flying from Barcelona to Seville. Vueling and others fly. I chose that option and was happy with it. I prefer train travel but it is worth considering.

Also consider montjuic in Barcelona--cable car and fort with fab views of Mediterranean.
Enjoy your trip.
