Itinerary questions for April/May trip

First time to Spain (we are from US ). Currently thinking 18 nights/19 days in Spain in late April early May. Fly into Barcelona and leave from Malaga. My tentative itinerary is: Barcelona 3 nights, Madrid 3 nights (day trips to Toledo/Segovia), Cordoba 2 nights, Seville 5 nights (day trip to Ronda), Granada 3 nights and Malaga 1 night (for early flight). I still have one more day to allocate but not sure where. Thoughts on this itinerary? Are the cities in the ‘right’ order for easy travel (travel by trains/buses/tours)? We are interested in seeing local culture, historical sites and not necessarily museums. I know it may seem rushed but may not get back to Spain. Any feedback appreciated. Thanks!

Not sure how you are counting days/nights. But, based on personal experience and preferences would suggest: Plan at least three full days in Barcelona; forget Ronda; two days in Granada is adequate; spend at least a full day in Malaga and possibly another night in order to walk the Caminito del Rey (highly recommend). Agree with Madrid for 3 nights with the day trips and two nights in Cordoba. Four nights for Seville is adequate if you decide to reallocate your time. Tough choices, but you are off to a great start.

Happy travels!

That sounds pretty good. Makes sense for trains and everything.

Here's what I would do personally for that basic route:

4 Barcelona
4 Madrid
1 Cordoba
5 Sevilla
2 Granada
2 Malaga

Rather than arbitrarily selecting a certain number of days in each place, identify the places you want to visit in each place and how much time you think it will take to see them. That will give you an idea of the number of days you’ll need. Invariably you’ll spend more time at some places and less at others.
